Some days ago Gameloft complained about the Android platform and that they where planning to stop some of there activities on creating games for the Android Market. This message came to public and a lot of blogs where writing about it. It was funny how Gameloft and there public relation department hasted to give a statement. There actually not planning to stop production on the platform this because they gave a quick press release about the development of HD games for the next generation android phones like the Sony Xperia X10 and the Motorola Droid. In this press release they also noted the production of a new title called Assassin’s Creed.
This is pretty funny because a few days ago the financial director Alexandre de Rochefort stated:
We have significantly cut our investment in Android platform, just like … many others.
It is not as neatly done as on the iPhone. Google has not been very good to entice customers to actually buy products. On Android nobody is making significant revenue.
Lets hope the latest press release is real which means good news for the gamers out there. We could use some good quality games for the android.
Awesome article as usual, thank you for posting such informative stuff on a regular basis.
